4th Annual Keep Austin Weird 5K & Music Festival
Music Festival Presented by Ziegenbock and benefiting the Austin Music Foundation
The 4th Annual Keep Austin Weird 5K & Music Festival will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2006. The run begins and ends at Auditorium Shores, and the start time is scheduled for 7:00 pm. Race registration will be available exclusively at RunTex on Riverside & online at http://www.iwonone.com/kaw/. Tickets and race packages are on sale now.
The Keep Austin Weird Music Festival will kick off the festivities at 2:00 pm. Roky Erikson & The Explosives will headline this year’s Festival, and other performers include Dale Watson, Grady, Mother Truckers, Larry, The Steps, Coopers Uncle and more. Roky’s show is from approximately 8:30 to 10:00 pm. Tickets to the concert are only $5.00 in advance and $8.00 at box office on the day of show. Tickets are now on sale exclusively at Run-Tex on Riverside, Austin Java Parkway, and Austin Java Barton Springs.
The event celebrates the truly unique spirit of our great city. The race and concert are sponsored by a who’s who of local Austin businesses – the people and places that Keep Austin Weird. It’s another great way for these businesses to thank Austinites who support them.
The unique race features a course through Downtown & South Austin. Many “Fun Stops” are available along the route with food and drink, such as Amy’s Ice Cream, and other surprises.
More food and drink & arts/crafts from local Austin businesses will be available all day on Auditorium Shores. The “Weird Zone” is back and full of fun activities for kids of all ages making the event a family affair. Come early; stay late. The new start time for the 5K run will mean more opportunities to hear some great Austin music.

• Ticket holders will exchange their tickets for wristbands upon entry.
• Wristband Redemption information will be announced shortly
• Wristbands are non-transferable and once removed, cannot be replaced.
• Wristbands must be worn at all times.
• Kids under 10 are FREE!
• Cash only at the door.
• Remember - you do not need to run in the race in order to go to the show!

Parking
• There is very limited parking on site, but plenty of free parking nearby & within a very short walking distance
• Shuttles will run every half hour from Republic Square Park (4th and Guadalupe) to Auditorium Shores from 2pm to 10:30pm.

Keep Austin Weird Music Festivarians and their belongings are subject to search.
The following items are not allowed:
• Folding Chairs
• Coolers
• Weapons.
• Illegal substances .
• Large Backpacks.
• Alcohol (alcoholic beverages will be sold at the event).
• Glass containers.
• Food or beverages (a large selection of food and beverages will be sold at the event).
• Bicycles, skateboards, scooters or carts.
• Large chains or spiked jewelry.
• Fireworks.
• Explosives.
• Umbrellas.
• Tents .
• Video equipment.
• Recording Devices..
• Unauthorized/unlicensed vending.
• Any large items that take up more than your personal space.
• Pets of any kind (service animals are allowed). Please don't leave your beloved animal in your hot car! Visit our friends at Dog Camp Pet Boarding. They are KAW endorsed and just great folks!

• 2 sealed bottled water per person.

• All persons wishing to consume alcoholic beverages must show a valid id & receive a wristband at a ID check station.
• A professional security company & police will be on site to ensure the safety of all fest attendees.
